The Short Version
Blipkey shows you crypto news for the coins you pick. There is no account and no sign-in, and we don't collect your personal data. Your coin list and preferences stay on your device; if you use iCloud, your coin list and a few counters also sync through your private iCloud storage. To load news and prices, the app asks news and market-data services for the coins you follow; those requests never include your name, email, device ID or advertising ID. We never sell your data, and we don't receive it ourselves, apart from the optional crash reports described below.
No Account, No Tracking
There is no sign-up and no login. Blipkey contains no third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) or App Tracking Transparency, and shows no ads. Apart from one public file we host on Amazon Web Services (the list of coins, downloaded when the app's copy is more than a week old, with nothing about you in the request), we run no server the app talks to.
What Stays on Your Device
Your coin list, the news sources you hide, your saved stories, your reading history (the last 300 articles you opened), your settings and saved AI explanations are stored on your device, inside Blipkey's private storage. Saved stories and reading history are not synced anywhere.
iCloud Sync
If you're signed in to iCloud, Blipkey uses your private iCloud key-value storage to keep a few small things in step across your Apple devices: your coin list (with a counter that keeps its changes in order), the time you last checked your headlines (so new stories are marked NEW on every device), the date you first opened Blipkey, and how many free articles and Top News stories you've used. This storage belongs to your Apple Account, and we cannot read it.
Keeping the Free Trial and Free Articles Fair
To keep the 3-day free trial and the free articles fair, Blipkey keeps a small record in your device's Keychain: the date you first opened the app; how many free articles and Top News stories you've used; the web addresses of the free articles and the IDs of the Top News stories you opened, so none is counted twice; whether you were subscribed when it last checked; briefly after a purchase or renewal, its App Store transaction number and renewal date; and two small bookkeeping values. This record contains no name, email or account, stays on your device (it isn't synced through iCloud Keychain), and remains if you delete and reinstall the app.
Network Requests
To show news, prices and market data, Blipkey requests them directly from these services. None of these requests include your name, email, device ID or advertising ID:
• Our news data provider: headlines, top stories, topics, most-mentioned coins, tone ratings, whale transfers and prices. Requests include the coins you follow or look up, the news sources you hide, and the topic, date range or story you're viewing.
• CoinGecko: prices for the Watchlist Prices widget on iPhone and iPad and for the menu bar on Mac. Requests include up to 8 of your coins' symbols.
• Alternative.me: the Crypto Fear & Greed Index.
• Amazon Web Services: our list of coins you can search.
• Image hosts: article images, loaded from links supplied with the news.
These services receive only what each request needs and handle it under their own privacy policies. Like any request on the internet, they can see your device's IP address.
Reading Articles
Articles open on the publisher's own website: on iPhone and iPad in a Safari view inside the app, and on Mac in your default browser. On iPhone and iPad, Blipkey learns only whether the page loaded, whether you moved it to Safari and when you closed it; on Mac it learns nothing once your browser opens. It can't see what you read or do on the page, and the publisher's own privacy policy applies.
Apple Intelligence
AI Summary, Ask AI and explanations of crypto terms run on your device with Apple Intelligence. The stories you summarize and the questions you ask are processed on your device and are never sent to us or to any server.
Listen and Notifications
Listen reads headlines aloud with your device's built-in voices. The optional digest reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device: there is no push server, and we never send you messages.
Purchases
Blipkey Premium is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple gives the app your subscription's own details, such as its transaction number and renewal date, which stay on your device. It never gives the app your payment details, name or Apple Account email. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings, and refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Ratings and Crash Reports
Blipkey may ask Apple to show its standard rating prompt. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may share crash reports with us, and we use them only to fix bugs.
Children
Blipkey is not directed at children and doesn't collect personal information from anyone, of any age.
Deleting Your Data
On iPhone and iPad, deleting Blipkey removes everything it stored there, except the Keychain record described above. On a Mac, macOS keeps an app's data after the app is moved to the Trash; to remove it, delete the folder ~/Library/Containers/COM.FUTURAAPP.CRYPTONEWS (deleting it doesn't remove the Keychain record). Items in your iCloud key-value storage stay in your Apple Account. Because we don't receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf, but you're always welcome to ask us at support@futuraapp.com.
Contact and Changes
Blipkey is published by FuturaApp, Inc. Questions about this policy: support@futuraapp.com. If the app changes how it handles data, we will update this page. Last updated 17 October 2026.
