The Short Version
Physical Scanner Connect turns paper into PDFs and pictures with the scanner you already own. Your scans stay on your Mac, iPhone or iPad — they are never sent to us, and we never see them. There is no account, no ads and no tracking.
Your Scans Stay on Your Device
The pages you scan are kept inside the app on your device until you save or share them, or start a new scan. Everything the app does with them — reading their words so your PDFs are searchable, cutting photos apart, turning and ordering pages, making the file you save or send — happens on your device. Pages waiting in the app are not included in your device’s backups.
Your Scanner and Your Network
The app talks only to your scanner. On iPhone and iPad it looks for scanners on your Wi-Fi network — iOS asks you to allow this first — and receives the pages directly from the scanner. On the Mac it uses the Mac’s own scanning service, over Wi-Fi or a USB cable. To reconnect quickly, the app remembers on your device the scanner you chose and, for scanners that use a secure connection, the scanner’s security certificate, so it can tell you if that certificate changes. Nothing about your scanner or your network is sent to us.
Saving, Sending and Photos
When you save or send a scan, the file goes only where you choose, through your device’s own Save and Share features. On iPhone and iPad, saving photos to the Photos app asks for permission to add photos; the app never reads your photo library.
Purchases
The one-time purchase is sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells the app only whether you own it — never your payment details, name or email address. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
No Analytics, Ads or Tracking
The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code and does not use the advertising identifier. We do not build a profile of you, and we never sell or share your data — the app never sends us any. Earlier versions of the Mac app did not collect any information either.
Deleting Your Data
Delete pages in the app, or start a new scan to clear the document in progress. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Because we never hold your scans, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
