Everything Happens on Your Mac
Zumkor converts photos, audio, and video between formats entirely on your Mac. Your files are never uploaded — there is no server that receives, stores, or processes them, and there is no cloud step behind the scenes. Zumkor ships with no network access at all, so it keeps working with Wi-Fi turned off.
We Don't Collect Your Data
Zumkor has no account, no login, and no sign-up. It does not ask for your name, email, or any other identifier, and it does not collect personal information. The App Store Privacy Nutrition Label reads "Data Not Collected." The only thing Zumkor saves is your own app settings, kept locally on your Mac.
Your Files Stay Yours
Zumkor runs in Apple's App Sandbox and can only touch the specific files you open and the folder you choose to save into. It does not scan or index the rest of your disk. Converted files are written exactly where you tell them to go and nowhere else — nothing is ever copied off your Mac.
No Analytics, Tracking, or Ads
Zumkor contains no third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), device fingerprinting, or App Tracking Transparency. We do not build a profile of you, and we never sell or share data — because we never collect it.
How Conversions Work
Zumkor uses Apple's own media frameworks (Image I/O, AVFoundation / VideoToolbox, and Core Image) plus a bundled copy of the open-source FFmpeg tool for the formats Apple can't handle on its own. FFmpeg ships inside the app, is built with networking disabled, and runs locally as part of Zumkor — it is never downloaded or contacted over the internet.
Purchases
The one-time "Unlock Everything" purchase is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Apple shares only your receipt and entitlement status with the app — never your payment details, Apple Account email, or real name. There is no subscription. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; we have no access to your billing information.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how Zumkor handles data, we will update this page and note it in the app's version history. The core promise — your files are converted on your device and never leave it — is foundational and will not change without a clear, prominent notice.
